There are THOUSANDS of old time tunes—too many to learn! So having a well-tuned ear is essential for social playing. This workshop series will focus on training the ear for rhythm, phrasing, intervals, tonal centers, modes, and everything else you’ll need to play old time without tabs or tune lessons. All old time instruments welcome.

Workshops will take place online on Tuesdays in January (1/7, 1/14, 1/21, and 1/28) from 5:30-6:45pm Pacific via Discord (it’s not that different from Zoom, I promise, and it’s better for keeping track of workshop materials). After signing up, registrants will get a downloadable .html file (openable in your internet browser) with a link to instructions. The download link expires 24 hours after purchase so I recommend downloading it right away. Workshops will be recorded and posted in the Discord server.

This workshop could be for any skill level, but participants will be most comfortable if they have at least a basic understanding of their instrument.
